Designers and Builders of Special Machines, State of the Art
"Turn-key" Automation and Systems & Industrial Programmable Controls for
your Production Requirements
Sims Machine & Controls, Inc., was established in 1975 as a company
with the ability to design and build those "special" machines that
required knowledge and expertise in several fields to tie all the loose
ends together. That description is even more appropriate today. SMC has
literally grown up with today's latest automation technologies and some
that are now old hat. Today our capabilities are not limited to just
machines. We can provide complete turnkey manufacturing systems and
industrial programmable controls for many types of industries, including
transportation, material handling and pharmaceutical.
Our comprehensive facility is home to a team of skilled employees
committed to delivering the highest quality of applied innovation with
simplicity and economy to meet or exceed your goals. Through the use of
state of the art technologies, we provide productive cost-saving
automation systems, large or small, to perform a wide range of
specialized tasks with repeatable accuracy enabled by programmable
industrial controls, electronic sensing, robotics, servo drives, vision
identification, gauging, precision hard tooling, etc.
Sims Machine & Controls has earned a respected reputation nationwide.
From our involvement with many Fortune 500 companies, including
government / defense agencies and other customers throughout the United
States, a diversity of complex problems have been solved. Each new
project is approached with a wealth of accumulated knowledge gained from
years of experience. This dynamic expertise can be a valuable asset to
any manufacturer who faces the ever-increasing competitiveness demanded
by today's global market place.
CAPABILITIES
Some examples of problems solved include the difficult application of
toxic coatings, the precision manipulation and shaping of parts requiring
several operations, multi part assembly, material handling using multiple
servo controlled axes, automated inspection stations, to name only a few
areas of involvement.
In-house design expertise includes mechanical, electrical and
pneumatic, CNC/servo systems specialists, PLC and other programming
capabilities. All designs are done with AutoCAD and other specific
PC-based tools. Our manufacturing capability includes a fully equipped
machine shop, fabrication shop, electrical panel shop, assembly, test and
debug, and sample production runs.
SMC has years of experience integrating standard controls, PLC
controllers, vision systems, servo systems and materials handling into
highly functional manufacturing equipment.
